Privacy Policy

Forlo keeps pet profiles, label photos, and the fields it reads from them on your iPhone. We do not run an account system, and we do not operate a server that receives your photos or pets.

What stays on your device

When you take a photo or choose one from your library, Forlo can store that image with the food on this iPhone. A pet profile can contain a name, species, life stage, weight, and ingredient words you typed. Those details stay in the app’s local storage until you delete them or delete the app.

Photographing a label requires Apple Intelligence. Forlo then uses Apple’s on-device model, with Apple’s on-device text recognition supplying the printed words. That processing happens on the iPhone. Forlo does not send the photograph or the pet profile to a server we operate.

FDA recall check

If you tap the recall check, Forlo sends the product name you saved to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s openFDA service at api.fda.gov. It does not send the pet’s name, the photo, or your contact details. The request happens only when you tap the button. openFDA’s handling of that request is described in its own terms. A result that finds nothing is not a statement that the food is safe.

What we do not collect

Forlo does not ask you to sign in. It does not use analytics, advertising identifiers, crash reporters, or other tracking SDKs. It does not sync to iCloud or to any service we run. The camera and photo library are used only when you add a food. Deleting the app removes its local data from that device.

Email you choose to send

If you tap Contact Support, Forlo opens an email draft in your Mail app. Nothing is sent unless you press Send. The draft includes the app and iOS version. You can edit or delete anything first. We use these emails only to answer you and to fix the app, and we delete them when you ask.

Purchases

Optional unlock is a one-time In-App Purchase processed by Apple. Apple handles payment, receipts, and Restore Purchases. We do not receive your card details. Apple’s handling of that information is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Children

Forlo is a general utility. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

If this policy changes, we will update this page. The date below is the current version.
